Features
Ficus deltoidea belongs to Moraceae family and native to the Malaysia.It is evergreen shrubs to 1-2m tall ,0.5-1m spread , with many branched.Its Leaf blade broadly obovate,apex rounded,leathery,length and width 5-6 cm,adaxially green with golden spots,abaxially yellowish with dark spots along veins. Ficus deltoidea produces pea sides fruits 0.8-1cm in diam all year round.These fruits from green to red are atrractive.If placed in ideal conditions,fruits on the plant can remain for up to 8 months.
Growth Habits
Ficus deltoidea are easy to care for.
Temperature:They love warm regions where they can grow fast,and should be away from extreme cold weather.The optimum temperature range for the plant is 28-32℃
Light: Light is crucial,sufficient light makes the stems strong,leaves thick and yellowish in color,fruits more and redder.If grown outside,it can be adapted to full sun or part shade. When grown as an indoor plant,it likes a bright spot,close to a
window where it could receive sunlight for a few hours.
Water: Before watering ,be sure the soil of the plant is dry.It would reduce the chances of the roots rot to allowing soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
Humidity: Average humidity is fine.if placed in a high-humidity spot for a long time,it can develop aerial roots at the base nodes.
Fertiliser: Feed every 2-3 weeks during growing season.Or apply a slow release fertiliser according to the recommended dosage.
Substrate:It is not particular as to soil type or pH; an average well-drained potting soil should work just fine.
Pruning:The branches of this plant are soft,in order to maintain atrractive shape,necessary pruning and pinching back can be done。
